ShiftPilot is built for drivers. We only collect what we need to run the app, improve reliability, and help you track miles, jobs, and expenses. We do not sell your personal data.
Quick Summary
- We collect account info (email, display name), app settings, and your logs (jobs, miles, expenses) so the app works.
- GPS/location is used only if you enable tracking and grant permission. You can disable it anytime.
- We don’t sell personal data. We share data only with service providers needed to run the app (hosting, payments).
- Pro payments are processed by Stripe (web / some platforms) or Google Play Billing (Android Play Store). We don’t store your full card number.
- You can export your data and request account deletion.
1) Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how COVA Labs, LLC (ShiftPilot) (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use ShiftPilot (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
2) Data We Collect
We collect the following categories to provide and improve the Service:
Optional inputs: Some fields are optional (like tax rate). You control what you enter.
3) Data Safety & Transparency
We believe you should always know how your data is handled. Here’s what that means in plain English:
- Only what’s needed: We collect the minimum data required for the app to function.
- No selling: Your personal data is never sold.
- No ad networks: We don’t share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
- Location is optional: GPS tracking works only when you turn it on.
- Encrypted in transit: Data is protected using HTTPS when sent.
- Secure storage: Data is stored using modern cloud infrastructure (Supabase).
- You’re in control: Export or delete your data anytime.
- Subscriptions protected: Payments are processed by Stripe or Google Play, not us.
3) Location & GPS
ShiftPilot may use location to support GPS-based mileage features. Location is used only if you enable tracking and grant permission.
- Permission-based: Your device asks you before location access is granted.
- User controlled: You can disable tracking in Settings and/or revoke permission in your device settings.
- Purpose: To estimate miles and show GPS-related tracking status.
- No selling: We do not sell your location data.
4) How We Use Data
- Provide core features (dashboards, history, exports, insights).
- Calculate metrics (earnings, estimated fuel, net, tax estimates where enabled).
- Support GPS tracking features when enabled.
- Authenticate users and secure access to their own data.
- Prevent abuse, fraud, and protect the Service.
- Debug and improve performance/reliability (crash/error logs).
6) Payments (Stripe / Google Play)
If you purchase Pro features, payments are handled by third-party processors:
- Stripe: Used for web-based checkout and subscription management on supported platforms.
- Google Play Billing: Used for subscriptions purchased inside the Android Play Store version of the app.
We do not store your full card details. We may receive payment status (active/canceled), plan, and billing identifiers needed to unlock Pro.
7) Your Choices & Controls
- GPS permission: You can enable/disable tracking in Settings and revoke permission in your phone settings.
- Profile edits: Change display name and preferences in Settings.
- Export: Export your data from History when available.
- Account deletion: You can request deletion (see Terms / in-app delete flow, if enabled).
8) Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal data.
To request help, contact us at info@covalabsstudio.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.
9) Data Retention
We keep data only as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your data where reasonably possible, subject to legal/operational requirements.
10) Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information (access controls, encryption in transit where supported, and least-privilege design). No system is 100% secure, so please use strong passwords and keep your device protected.
11) Children’s Privacy
ShiftPilot is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
12) International Transfers
If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate.
13) Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and may provide additional notice within the app.
